I received a “Your site has updated to WordPress…” email

It’s ok, let’s discuss why you have received this.

WordPress Automatic Update Email

When a security or minor release is available, WordPress will automatically update itself.

WordPress will send you an email notification if any of your plugins, themes, or WordPress core are automatically updated.

If there is a major WordPress release, you will need to update from the WordPress dashboard.

Is this email anything to worry about?

Nope! There is no need to worry. It’s just WordPress’s way of notifying you when your WordPress site is updated.

Is it possible to stop receiving these notifications?

You can turn off this feature if you like. However, we don’t recommend it. It’s always a good idea to keep track of when your site was last updated in case there are any issues.
